Ameland Beach Rugby Festival 
15, 16 & 17 juni 2012
Het Europees Kampioenschap Dames Sevens is in hetzelfde weekend als het festival en zoals NRB voorzitter Willem de Jong zo treffend formuleerde:"Als de supporters niet bij ons zijn, gaan wij gewoon naar de supporters toe". En daarmee heeft het Bondsbestuur een belangrijk effect zeker bereikt, namelijk een suppervolle tribune met enthousiaste fans die ons Nederlands Dames Sevens Team een flinke steun in de rug kunnen geven bij deelname aan dit toernooi. Beachrugbyer massaal achter "onze Dames !"
Kortom het wordt gezellig druk op Ameland, eerst zelf lekker spelen op het strand en dan met zijn allen naar de voetbalvelden van VV Geel Wit in Nes (loopafstand van het strand) om de dames naar de overwinning te supporten.
Houd je er wel rekening mee dat je op zondag na de Beachfinales op het strand ook naar de finales van het Europees Kampioenschap Dames Sevens moet? Want wij gaan er van uit dat Nederland daar speelt, zet hem op Dames!

The Women 7's European Championship is in the same weekend as the Festival and as NRB Chairman Willem de Jongso aptly put it: "If the fans are not with us, we just go to the fans." And therewith the NRB Boardmembers has certainly achieved an important effect, namely a supper full tribune of enthusiastic fans who stand with us Dutch Women Sevens team a big boost to indicate participation in this tournament. Beachrugbyers massively behind "our Ladies!"
In short, it is pleasantly crowded on Ameland, first play a great Beachrugby matches and then all go to the Soccer VV Yellow White in Nes (walking distance from the beach) to support the ladies to victory.
Keep your mind though that after the Beach finales on Sunday you also need to come to the finales of The Women 7's European Championship. Because we assume that the Netherlands plays, Go Ladies!
Europees Kampioenschap Dames Sevens 2012 in Nederland 
12 Toplanden komen in juni 2012 strijden om de Europese Titel
De FIRA-AER heeft op 2 december j.l. de organisatie van het Europees Kampioenschap toegewezen aan Nederland. Deze zal op 16 en 17 juni op Ameland worden gehouden. De sterkste 12 landen, inclusief Nederland zelf, zullen in dit weekend strijden voor de titel, Europees Sevens Kampioen, die nu in handen is van Engeland.
Het is voor het eerst dat het EK Dames Sevens in Nederland wordt gehouden. Het feit dat Rugby Sevens in 2016 onderdeel van de Olympische Spelen wordt, het Nederlands Dames Sevens Team deelneemt aan een uniek full-time topsportprogramma en tot de beste 8 van de wereld behoort, heeft er mede voor gezorgd dat juist de NRB dit prestigiueze toernooi toegewezen heeft gekregen.
Alle grote rugbynaties van Europa zijn straks in Nederland vertegenwoordigd. Naast Europees Sevens Kampioen Engeland, spelen landen als Spanje, Rusland en Frankrijk. Maar ook landen als Portugal, Duitsland en Italië kunnen verrassend hoge ogen gaan gooien. De Nederlandse Sevens Dames hebben een sterk voorbereidingsprogramma in het verschiet met onder andere toernooien als Las Vegas Sevens (10-12 februari 2012) en Hong Kong Sevens (23-25 maart 2012).

12 Top countries will compete for the European Title in June 2012
On 2 December the FIRA-AER allocated the organization of the European Championship to the Netherlands. This will be held on 16 and 17 June on the island Ameland. The strongest 12 countries including the Netherlands itself, will compete for the title, European Sevens Champion, now owned by England.
It is the first time that the Women 7's European Championship is held in the Netherlands. The fact that Rugby Sevens in 2016 will be part of the Olympics, the Dutch Women's Sevens Team participates in a unique full-time professional sports programs and are among the best 8 of the world, has helped the NRB has received this prestigiueze tournament.
All the major rugby nations of Europe will be represented in the Netherlands. Besides European Sevens Champion England, playing countries such as Spain, Russia and France. But countries such as Portugal, Germany and Italy can be surprisingly perform well. The Dutch Women's Sevens Team have a strong preparatory program including tournaments as Las Vegas Sevens (10-12 February 2012) and Hong Kong Sevens (23-25 March 2012).
